MiniZone

Caring

MiniZone is for children from birth to 4 years.

Its aim is to bring together young children of a similar age to make it interesting and exciting to be part of church and to reinforce what they may be learning, experiencing and seeing at home in relation to God.

Babies under 6 months tend to stay with their parents in e:Quip but are welcome to come in if the baby is unsettled or needs changing or feeding.  Babies can be left in the group without a parent providing the workers that day feel they can provide adequate care.

Each sessions consists of:

  • a snack time of toast, fruit and water
  • free play.
  • a short story to illustrate a Christian principle, with time to chat and do related activities.  Most craft activities come home with the child, thereby letting you know what they have been learning and enabling you to continue at home.
  • a short song time involving singing, actions, dancing and sometimes instruments.

The babies and children are encouraged and assisted to take part in the activities that are appropriate for them.  Obviously the younger ones spend most of their time playing with the toys and being cared for but as they grow they start to get interested in other activities and join in.

MiniZone is run by a team of church members on a rota basis.  Each member of the team has chosen to work with this age group and brings a variety of gifts and a mix of experience.  There are 3 workers each week who provide a safe environment for young children while their parent/guardian is in e:Quip.

Every worker has had clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau to work with children, in line with the church's Child Protection Policy.  For more information on this, click here.
