What to expect on Sundays
We know that attending a new church for the first time can be intimidating. To make your first visit to Stockport Centre Church a little easier, here are a few things you can expect when you arrive.
We have a very relaxed atmosphere. Most people tend to wear casual clothes, but if you feel like dressing up a bit, then why not?
This is roughly what happens...
The service starts at 10:30am when we begin with a welcome and 30 minutes or so of worship. The worship is led by a group of musicians and singers and is a time to hear from God and to meet with Him. About once every three weeks we include communion in the time of worship.
We break for a few minutes after this to allow everyone to get to the groups relevant to them... all groups take place at the same time in different parts of the building.
There's MiniZone and GodZone for the children and nRG for young people. If you would like your children to attend, someone will show you where to sign them in before their session begins. Every helper in groups for children or young people has been CRB-checked, in line with the church's Child Proection policy. For more information on this, click here.
For adults, there's e:Quip and sometimes we offer additional options with topics such as Christian Foundations.
Soon after 12.00pm we finish together with refreshments - you are welcome to stay behind for as long as there is someone there to talk to!
Every now and then...
We have "all-age" services where we worship together instead of breaking into the usual groups. These services last for up to 75 minutes. Please see the Events Calendar for details.
